Cargill has been active in the Netherlands since 1959, and has more then 2,000 employees at sites in various locations in the country - in Amsterdam, Amstelveen, Bergen Op Zoom, Denekamp, Deventer, Naarden, Rotterdam (Botlek), Sas van Gent, Schiedam, Swalmen, Uden, Wormer and Zaandam.

Recent Cargill Investments in the Netherlands:
2002 - Cargill acquires Cerestar, a leading provider of starch and starch derivatives - the largest acquisition in Cargill's history. This acquisition includes Cerestar's plant in Sas Van Gent.
2005 - Cargill announces significant investments at its Botlek facility to boost the production capacity of liquid and tropical oils.
2006 - Cargill acquires Degussa Food Ingredients, including its Dutch site in Zaandam.
