De Top2000 van Radio2, mijn Top vijf...

Aan het eind van het jaar luister ik altijd naar de Top2000 van Radio2.
Ik had al eens mijn favoriete nummers 10 tot zes op mijn blog gezet.
Vandaag dus eindelijk de Top vijf.
Mijn nummer 1 is dus David Bowie met Heroes. Laters meer hierover...

1: Heroes, David Bowie (1977). David Robert Jones, beter bekend onder zijn artiestennaam David Bowie (Brixton, 8 januari 1947) is een Engelse muzikant. Hij wordt gezien als een uiterst invloedrijk rockmuzikant, artiest en acteur, vanaf de jaren zestig tot heden. David Bowie werd bekend vanwege wereldhits zoals Changes, Ziggy Stardust, Space Oddity, Rebel Rebel, Let's Dance, Dancing In The Street, Heroes en Under Pressure, Absolute Beginners. In Nederland had Bowie vijf nummer één hits. Daarnaast is hij bekend van de verschillende imago's, die vooral in de jaren zeventig excentriek te noemen waren.
Ik werd een fan van David Bowie in 1969. Het jaar van de maanlanding, Apollo 11. Het waren de begin jaren van de ruimtevaart. Denk aan de probleem vlucht Apollo 13 ("Houston, we've had a problem"). Het waren ook de mooiste jaren van David Bowie als Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. Ook bij David Bowie ging het toen over de ruimte: Major Tom is a fictional astronaut created by David Bowie, appearing in his songs "Space Oddity", "Ashes to Ashes" and "Hallo Spaceboy". Bowie's own interpretation of the character evolved throughout his career. 1969's "Space Oddity" depicts an astronaut who casually slips the bonds of a crass and material world to journey beyond the stars. In the 1980s song "Ashes to Ashes", Bowie reinterprets Major Tom as an oblique autobiographical symbol for himself. Major Tom is described as a "junkie, strung out in heaven's high, hitting an all-time low".
In discotheek "de Boog" hoorde ik voor het eerst het nummer "Heroes", ik vindt het een prachtig nummer...!
Het mooie nummer Heroes staat op 123 in de top2000.

2: Every breath YOU take, The police. "Every Breath You Take" is a song by The Police on the band's 1983 album Synchronicity, written by Sting. The single was one of the biggest of 1983, topping the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for eight weeks and the UK Singles Chart for four weeks. It also topped the Billboard Top Tracks chart for nine weeks. Sting won Song of the Year and The Police won Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal at the Grammy Awards of 1984 for "Every Breath YOU Take". The song: Every Breath YOU Take ranked #84 on the Rolling Stone list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time and #25 on Billboard's Hot 100 All-Time Top Songs. Het nummer staat op 385 in de top2000.

3: With or without YOU, U2.The Joshua Tree is het vijfde studioalbum van de Ierse rockband U2, dat verscheen in 1987. Het album is beïnvloed door blues, folk, gospel en de fascinatie van de bandleden voor Amerika. Brian Eno en Daniel Lanois produceerden de plaat. Dit nummer staat op 62 in de top2000.

4: Bad, U2. The Unforgettable Fire is the fourth studio album by Irish rock band U2, which was released in October 1984. The band wanted a different musical direction following their harder-hitting 1983 album War, and employed Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois to produce and assist them experiment with a more ambient and abstract sound. The resulting change in direction was at the time the band's most dramatic. Dit mooie SUPER nummer staat op 171 in de top2000.

5: The River, Bruce Springsteen (Mei 1981). "The River" is a song written and recorded by Bruce Springsteen, accompanied by the E Street Band. It was the title track of his fifth album, The River, and was a hit single in some European countries. Het nummer staat op 30 in de top2000.
